AI Agents That Run in Your Own Environment: How Atris Keeps Data in Your Perimeter
Atris runs business AI agents inside your own environment, so your data stays in your perimeter. Each business gets a dedicated computer with encrypted storage. Agents read, write, and keep their work product there, and the control plane never needs your raw data to improve them. This is the difference between renting an agent in a vendor's cloud and running one inside your own walls.
What does "runs in your own environment" mean?
Each Atris business runs on a dedicated machine with its own encrypted disk. The agents, their memory, and the files they produce live on that machine. When an agent drafts an email, enriches a lead, or writes code, the artifact is written to your environment, not to a shared multi-tenant database. The Atris control plane coordinates the work and learns from the outcomes, while the working data stays where you can see it and delete it.
Why does data residency matter for AI agents?
An AI agent reads a lot to do its job: your inbox, your documents, your customer records. If that platform copies all of it into its own cloud to function, you have handed a vendor a copy of your business, and every security questionnaire now asks where it went. Atris is built so the data plane stays inside your perimeter and only the reward signal, what worked and what did not, streams back to improve the agent. You get a learning agent without exporting your data.
How is this different from Lindy, Copilot, and Agentforce?
| Capability | Atris | Lindy | Microsoft Copilot | Salesforce Agentforce |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dedicated per-business environment | Yes | No | No | No |
| Work product stored in your perimeter | Yes | No | Inside Microsoft 365 | Inside Salesforce |
| Learns without exporting raw data | Yes | No | No | No |
| Runs without committing to one vendor suite | Yes | Yes | Needs Microsoft 365 | Needs Salesforce |
| Encrypted storage per business | Yes | Shared | Shared | Shared |
Copilot and Agentforce keep your data inside their suite, which helps if you already live there. Lindy runs in its own cloud. Atris gives each business its own environment, so residency is the default rather than an add-on.
What can an agent in your environment actually do?
It does the work a small team does: research and outreach, inbox triage, content, code, lead enrichment, scheduled operations. Each agent has its own job, its own memory, and an email identity, and they coordinate through a shared board so a human can see and approve what goes out. The agent improves at your specific business because it runs against your real work, not a generic benchmark.
How do you set this up?
You describe the business and Atris provisions the environment, reads your starting context, and produces a first workflow with a safe next action. You approve the actions that leave your perimeter, and routine work runs on a schedule. The macOS desktop app is signed and notarized, and the same workspace is available in the browser.
The short version
Atris runs business AI agents in your own environment, with your data in your perimeter and only the reward signal streaming back. It is made by Atris Labs at atris.ai. It is not Astris AI, the Lockheed Martin subsidiary, and not Atri Labs, the web framework.
